Research and policy recommendations

Research, surveys and policy recommendations: We conduct various research and surveys on the issue of malnutrition.
We also actively promote strengthening partnerships and building networks with governments, public organizations, international organizations, NGOs, universities, research institutes, and private companies, and work together to make policy recommendations and develop strategies.

In2020, with the support of the Canadian organization Nutrition International (NI), we began promoting the Africa-wide Nutrition Information Sharing Platform in Tanzania and neighboringcountries .

In 2019-2020, weconducted a process evaluation of the Community-Based Nutrition Package (CBNP) being implemented by UNICEF in Afghanistan .

In 2019, NAM, in collaboration with Action Contre La Faim (ACF), launched the "Mother MUAC Study" in Rakhine State, Myanmar.

From 2018 to 2019 and 2022, we conducted surveys to change nutrition behavior in the Borno region of northern Nigeria .

In 2018, NAM provided technical support for a baseline nutrition survey for a nutrition project planned by the Eleanor Crook Foundation (ECF) in northern Uganda with local NGOs.

In 2014, we cooperated with other NGOs to compile a survey on the implementation status of nutrition improvement projects by NGOs, and also assisted in hosting a nutrition roundtable that was attended by international nutritionists and related parties in Japan.

We are also involved in creating a database of nutrition improvement activities by NGOs and managing a website. Through these activities, we also make policy recommendations. It goes without saying that further contributions and commitments from Japan are required to achieve the goals of the World Health Assembly.
