Uganda Nutrition Survey
NAM provided technical support for a baseline nutrition survey for a nutrition project planned by the Eleanor Crook Foundation (ECF) and local NGOs in northern Uganda. Northern Uganda was the site of a civil war between the government forces and the rebel group LRA (Lord's Resistance Army) from 1988 to 2006, and the LRA has a sad history of kidnapping many villagers and forcing them into fighting and labor. Many refugees from South Sudan also live in the area. After training was given to three local NGOs in January 2018, surveys were conducted in each target area. It became clear that nutritional status was poor, there were many issues with mothers' childcare habits, and that social issues such as domestic violence and alcoholism were also behind the poor nutritional status.

NAM plans to share the methodology, process, and analysis results of this baseline nutrition survey in future training and workshops, and to use them for capacity building. We will also distribute the report (in English) to those who request it, so please let us know by email.
